COMMENTARY
On 31 January 1670 (1669 more veneto), Natale Monferrato received 100 ducats from the Procuratori de Supra for the dedication of a printed collection and a gift of three choirbooks with 4-voice music for the use of the Ducal Chapel. Two of these choirbooks contained a single mass and the other a Magnificat (Venice, Archivio di Stato, Procuratoria de Supra, Chiesa, reg. 146, fol. 156r: ‘tre grandi manuscritti di doi Messe, et un de Magnificat in musica à quattro voci per servitio della medesima Chiesa’).
